Beginner I
12 hours total…$75/student
Learn basics of watercolor, how to use brushes, water:paint ratios; mixing color,
limited color palette, Wet-on-Wet & Wet-on-Dry techniques, washes, gradations,
charging in color, layering, and value sketches. Student will be doing demos and two
1/4 sheet paintings. _Note:_ Cheaper watercolor paper may be used on first day to do
demos, however, professional watercolor paper is a must for last two days of class.
Beginners to Advanced
Beginner II
12 hours total…$75/student
Composition Basics: Build on ideas, develop strong designs by using the
elements created by artists of the past and present: Shapes/Form; Values/Lightl Color;
Texture/Pattern; Size/Relationship; Perspective and more.
Beginners to Advanced
Specialized Subjects:
2 hr classes x 3 days (~6 hrs) $40.00 or $15 for one 2 hr class
Florals, Landscapes, Skies, Rocks, Cityscapes, Trees, more
Supply List:
* Small note pad, sketch paper and #2 pencil; kneaded or soft eraser; Lg
water container; paper towels or cloth rag; waterproof painting board larger than 1/4
sheet paper; masking tape; one full sheet (22x30) 140# watercolor paper acid free 100%
cotton or rag; good synthetic watercolor brushes...at least 1” flat, and a 1-1/2" Wash
brush, #10 or #12 round; palette or lg piece of aluminum foil. Watercolor paints:
/Suggested/ Cadmium Red, Cadmium Yellow, Ultramarine Blue, Thalo Blue, Alizarin
Crimson or Permanent Rose, Lemon Yellow
